Preparing evidence for a delivery assessment
Assessments stall when evidence arrives late. The first week should produce a shared picture of how work moves, not a scavenger hunt across chat threads.
Collect deploy history for ninety days, including timestamps, change tickets, and whether each deploy was rolled back or hotfixed. Export pipeline run durations by stage for the same window. Add the release calendar and any freeze notices.
Incident summaries matter even when they seem unrelated to delivery. A stability dip often traces to a promotion practice or a skipped soak rather than to application code alone.
Finally, list the people who own merges, promotions, and on-call for each application in scope. Interviews go faster when names and responsibilities are clear on day one.
